Opening the CygNet Console
Use the CygNet Client Installer (CInstall.exe) to install the CygNet Console application. The CygNet Client Installer sets up integrated version management to ensure that you have the latest version of the application files. See CygNet Client Installer for more information.
To Install CygNet Console Using the CygNet Client Installer
- Open the CygNet Client Installer (Start Menu > All Programs > CygNet > CygNet Client Installer). The CygNet Client Installer/Launcher dialog box will be displayed.

Note: If UAC is enabled, CygNet Client Installer must be run as an administrator in order to install CygNet Console. See CygNet Client Installer for more information.
- On the Blob Service: Admin drop-down menu, select your APPS Site.Service.
- In the Blob Folder: list, select CLIENTS to access the list of client applications available for installation.
- In the Select CygNet Applications to Install list, select CygNet Console.
- Click the check box adjacent to Add shortcut to desktop to select/clear this feature.
- Click Install. A confirmation message will be displayed asking if you want to start the application.
- Select Yes to start CygNet Console.
To Start CygNet Console
- After installation, there are several ways to start CygNet Console. Some methods provide version management and some do not.
Methods Providing Version Management
Once CygNet Console has been installed using the CygNet Client Installer, you can open the application using one of the following methods. These methods provide version management for the CygNet Console application.
- Start the application using the CygNet Client Installer. See CygNet Client Installer for more information.
- Start the application using the Start menu shortcut. From the Start menu, browse to Programs > CygNet > CygNet Console and click the application icon
. - Start the application from the shortcut on your desktop (if you selected to add it during installation).
Methods Not Providing Version Management
Alternatively, you can open the application using one of the following methods. These methods do not provide version management.
- Start the application using Windows Explorer. Browse to the CygNet\Clients\CConsole directory and double-click the CygNet Console executable (CCONSOLE.EXE).
- Start the application using CygNet Explorer. Right-click on any service in the service hierarchy and select Launch Console.

Start the application from a command line. In the command window, specify the location of the CygNet Console application:
C:CygNet\Clients\CConsole> CConsole <Site.Service>
where <Site.Service> specifies the site and service you want to view.
